About NLM

Nelson Land Management is an ecological consulting and contracting company in central Illinois. We specialize in ecological contracting projects for a diverse range of federal, state, corporate, and private clients including US Fish and Wildlife Service, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, IL Environmental Protection Agency, Caterpillar, and John Deere. Core areas of expertise include timber stand improvement, prairie and wetland restoration and installation, vegetation and weed management, prescribed burn implementation, and development related nonpoint source pollution prevention and management.

We also develop plans through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources' Conservation Stewardship Program, prescribed burn plans & permitting, and comprehensive ecological management implementation plans for corporate and private landowners.

 

Our Heritage

 

Nelson Land Management LLC was founded by Jim Nelson in 2011. Jim began his career in February 2000 as a restoration ecologist with LaGesse and Associates, then with Applied Ecological Services, and as the urban stormwater specialist at the Association of IL Soil & Water Conservation Districts. He has finally found his true home as the owner/operator of NLM.
